Men’s Basketball: Hoopsquad Brings Hope to Level 3 Students

By Guest Contributors • Oct 20th, 2008 • Category: Sport

So it’s week 2 and before you have a double take and frantically check to see if  ‘Doc’ is using you as a Marty Mcfly replacement, I am referring to the now now not the then now (your now now)…duh?!

I’ve had lecturer after lecturer telling me how much work I have to do and my bank balance telling me I need to fit a job in here somewhere as well. In the immortal words of the great JT – “Cry me a river” right? I’d give it a damn good go as well if it wasn’t for one thing – Hoopsquad!

Without a doubt the basketball team has made my uni experience and this year looks to have all the aces up its sleeve. Quality people and players alike (in most cases both at the same time) have flocked in their thousands to the first few sessions (This reporter reserves the right to exaggerate grossly) and it’s got me more excited then Skippy on a trampoline.

We have a chance to achieve great things this year and have an awesome time doing it. (Is awesome too turtles, or can I use it?) (Hmm do I overuse brackets? (Seems to be a theme in my articles!)

Unfortunately I can’t give you any stories of our successes as, as of now (again my now) we’ve not had a game but as it’s now actually your now, we would have won 4 games and be kitting up to win another tonight, good huh!

There is just one thing missing from all this awesomeness (sorry just going to keep with it) and that’s you! Not the generic wider ‘you’, but the actual you, you – the one reading this right now, with the yellow T-shirt (worth a guess!)!

So…see you at Oxstalls 9:00pm Tuesday?
