The idea is to bring a common brand into all the unions up and down the country whilst providing a fun and energetic night out for students nationwide.

Flirt! are running a competition. The Union with the most number of fans by midday on Monday 15th of December will win a pair of Pioneer CDJ-800 Mk11’s - worth more than £1500.

This would be a massive prize for our Union and mean that we are able to provide our student DJs with top of the range music equipment to use in all the bars.

Well its been a busy semester with non stop SU madness. We’ve had band nights, open mic nights, school disco’s, bingo, bbqs and more quizzes than you can shake a stick at. Above all this, the best thing for me is to see so many students actually wanting to get involved and make a difference…I won’t thank you because in the long run you’ll see how much you will get out of this, but I will say a massive well done to every single volunteer and hope you will all come back refreshed after Christmas to tackle the second semester.

So short and sweet from me this time but hope you all have a very Merry Christmas xx

Some of you know me, some of you don’t, my name is Leanne Davies and I’m this years Entertainment Manager for the SU. At risk of boring you with my life story I am a third year Event Management student and am lucky enough to be spending my placement year with the best organisation this side of the Severn bridge (no bias intended). My job is to inject fun, individuality and or course good times into the entertainment and event itinery on offer here at University. However, I would like to think I go beyond this by providing you guys with a voice to have your say about the events and networking opportunities for you to gain experience, meet new people and get involved through the Ents Team.

As for Fresher’s Fortnight, the posters kind of speak for themselves. We’ve really pushed the boat out this year in terms of quality and I’m sure most of you will agree there is no other Union that offers the same standard as we do. So on that musical note, its time to draw this article to a near end and wish you all the best on move in day and hopefully I’ll get to meet some of you at the events. If you’re going to listen to one thing I’ve said in this article please believe me when I say University will fly by faster than a jet on a runway. Three to Four years (dare I say five for some of you?) is not a long time at all, so grab it by the balls, get out there, get involved but get the job done.

We’re here for a good time NOT a long time.
